The Year 5 and 6 class went on a trip to Cadbury World last week.

The visit was arranged to enrich our History curriculum, as we have been learning about the Maya Civilization in Topic this half term. Cacao—what they called chocolate—was an important part of their culture. It was highly valued and used for many purposes: it could be made into a hot drink for the rich and noble to enjoy, it was used in rituals and celebrations, herbs and spices were added to use it in medicines, and the beans were even used as money!

The trip was a fantastic way to bring our learning to life and connect with the history of chocolate through hands-on experiences at Cadbury World.
