Welcome:
Welcome to Bridge Street School’s careers page. As an SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school we pride ourselves in our ability to focus on the needs and experiences of every individual in our school. This focus means that we wish to provide a broad and personalised set of experiences for all our students to prepare them for education, life and work and, in particular, their next steps when they leave us for post-16 options. We have high aspirations for every student and believe that they will be successful, in keeping with Respect’s belief in a great today for a better tomorrow and the phrase, “We Never Give Up”.
Our Mission:
Bridge Street School’s mission is to work in collaboration with our students, their parents, our colleagues in other organisations and local employers, to create the best possible programme of opportunities for our students to develop their employability skills and knowledge of their future options and to enable them to make informed decisions about their next steps.
Aims:
- To have a comprehensive programme of stage appropriate opportunities across KS3 and KS4 year groups including careers talks, workplace experiences, employer interactions, job searches, career profiles etc.
- For every student to explore their career and further education options whenever possible.
- To work with local training providers to provide the most up-to-date and accurate information advice and guidance.
- For every student in year 10 and 11 to have access to an appointment with an independent careers advisor to discuss their options.
- To work with local organisations and employers to provide “real” and “live” opportunities to share information about and experiences of the world of work.
- For every student to create and build a portfolio bespoke to them, their interests, their skills and their options.
